Why Mason Music For Violin Lessons?

Violin LessonsCustomer Satisfaction:
With many options for violin lessons in Birmingham, Mason Music is consistently voted #1 by our customers. Our teachers, front desk and back office staff, facilities, locations, involvement in the community, business philosophy and our focus on serving our customers are just a few of the things that we believe contribute to earning that place in our customers’ minds.

Community:
At Mason Music, you are not simply signing up for private violin lessons. Rather, you are joining a community of music teachers, students and staff that are all on the same mission together: to inspire a growing community of passionate and excellent musicians! We create this community atmosphere based on some core principals:

• Everyone has value and should be accepted, included, encouraged and affirmed through their interactions at Mason Music.

• We must challenge each other to continually grow, develop and improve through focus, hard work and practice, AND

• We must be honest and kind to each other at all times.

This idea of community is central to who we are as a company and how we interact with our customers. It is also key to helping us serve our students in a way that builds confidence, social skills, coordination, work ethic, personal responsibility and, of course, a love for and ability to play music.

Violin LessonsFacilities:
Our violin lesson rooms are stocked with everything our teachers and students need to create a great learning environment. From inspiring posters of great bands on the walls, to music stands, whiteboards and a setup for playing along with the music being learned, we ensure there is a comfortable and safe space for lessons to take place. All of our lesson rooms have windows in the doors and we maintain an open door policy with parents who want to sit in on a lesson from time to time.

Unique Learning Environments:
With over 700 students in private music lessons, our violin students have the rare chance to put their skills into practice when they plug in with voice, drum, piano and guitar students for group lessons, camps, and programs; turning what would otherwise be a solo journey into a collaborative team effort. All of this begins for most of our students with private lessons.

Where Do You Find Your Violin Teachers?

Violin LessonsWe have to brag on our team for a minute. Our violin teachers absolutely rock. They are the most qualified and passionate violin teachers in Birmingham. The proof is in the performances we hear from our students at recitals and concerts and it’s on the faces of our students when they walk out of lessons every week.

Our selection process for bringing teachers onto our team is thorough and includes multiple rounds of interviews, auditions, shadowing veteran teachers, a background check and reference calls. This is to ensure that our greatest asset (that’s YOU) has the best experience. There is a huge difference between having a skill and having the ability to teach that skill. We work hard to find people who have both. The result of all of this effort is that our team of violin teachers is experienced, talented, inspiring, fun and great at teaching kids and adults alike. Whether you want to learn bluegrass fiddle, classical violin, or any other style, we have a teacher who will be a great fit for your preference.

How Do Violin Lessons Work At Mason Music?

Our students are matched with the teacher who will be the best fit for the student’s goals, experience, personality and schedule. Once scheduling is out of the way, it’s time to get started. You will meet with your teacher once a week at the same time and studio each week for 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending on which you select. Our favorite lesson length for most students is 45 minutes because it allows time for building a relationship, warming up, reviewing what was learned in the previous lesson and providing new instruction. Thirty minutes is great for younger students and an hour-long lesson is great for more advanced students who are interested in accelerating their progress. We offer several music lesson packages ranging from a month to month agreement to a year-long contract. These various packages offer options to our customers to match their needs related to schedule flexibility, pricing and commitment.

Do I Need A Violin Before I Sign Up For Violin Lessons?

Yes and no. We know that buying an instrument is a big investment. If you are testing out your child’s interest and aren’t ready to take the plunge, we totally understand will work with you! On the other hand, having a violin at home is a big advantage when it comes to students making progress between lessons. The good news is that we have teamed up with a reputable company to offer affordable rentals of all sizes for our beginner violin students. Especially for small children, renting makes a lot of sense. There are many different sizes of violins, and as a young student outgrows their rental instrument it can simply be traded in for the next size up. This is much more convenient than trying to sell a used instrument and turning around to buy another one every year. Learn more about our rental program HERE (use the code “mason” when ordering) or come into one of our studios to be properly sized. Our staff can help make sure we find the right fit for you or your child.

What Will I (Or My Child) Learn?

Violin LessonsAs one of the most difficult instruments to learn, the violin can be intimidating. By combining both classical and contemporary training methods, Mason Music helps create an exciting and challenging environment that you can thrive in. You’ll learn how to play songs that are widely known and loved through ear training and reading sheet music. Our violin teachers focus lesson time on proper technique, music theory and repertoire. We have a well-rounded staff of violin teachers who are highly-trained and active in the music performance community. We understand that everyone has individual personalities and learning styles, so our teachers develop customized lesson plans for each student to make sure we are delivering effective and productive instruction that is exactly what you’re looking for. Our front desk staff works hard to make sure that you are placed with someone who can meet your needs and serve as both a teacher and mentor during your musical journey.
